Hojsak & Novosel are not only two virtuosos on their instruments, but also a very crafted composers and orchestrators. On their second album Strings only, they took some of their compositions and wrote some new ones for them as soloists accompanied by string orchestra. Famous BBC composer Bill Connor wrote in the liner notes:
The performances and recordings are first class. The compositions from both composers/performers are of high quality with enormous energy and innovation for themselves and their chosen accompanying performers who respond with power and zest, precise under the direction of Igor Tatarević at one and the same time tightly contained but with freshness and excitement as if they’re playing these pieces for the first time. You won’t find another album like this and be careful not to categorise by instrumentation. These are compositions and playing techniques that have developed over years with influences from across the world to become one voice through two sets of hands and minds; Bow vs Plectrum. Bravo gentlemen!
